“It was a garden full of roses”, illustration for chapter XX, probably 1943, ink and pencil on paper, Stiftung für Kunst, Kultur und Geschichte, Winterthur.

It is the most translated book in the world after the Bible. The little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is the subject of an exhibition at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris. It traces the genesis of this tale, written between 1941 and 1943 in New York by the aviator Saint-Exupéry, then in exile. The book will appear in France after the death of the writer, which occurred in 1944 at the controls of his plane shot down by the Nazis.
