McLaren was like a space rocket sick at full speed

Formula 1’s British GP was once again dominated by just one man. Max Verstappen took the win, but behind him the British drivers fought closely for the dominance of their home track.

The tenth race of the Formula One season did not bring any changes to the prevailing situation in the sport’s king class.

Red Bull’s Dutch driver went again on the British GP Silverstone track Max Verstappen’s to names. Verstappen started the race from the pole position, lost his top spot at the start for only a few laps and then dominated the rest of the race.

Verstappen’s superiority on the Silverstone track is well told by the team radio commentary seen in the race and the event that followed.

– These tires don’t feel good to me, Verstappen described to his team.

After that, the reigning world champion drove the fastest lap of the race on the same tires.

Behind Verstappen, we saw the battle of the British drivers on their home track. Especially the British team McLaren Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri went to the competition in a hurry. The final result was happy for McLaren: Norris drove second, Australian driver Piastri fourth.

The speed of the McLarens on the straights also guaranteed better positions against the Mercedes cars that were fighting with them. Mercedes British drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell to the chagrin of the home crowd, they finished third and fifth.

The tightest battles were seen among the British drivers, when Norris and Hamilton fought for second place. Norris came out victorious. The British public rewarded Norris after the race with long cheers of “Laaandoo, Laaandoo”. Norris and Hamilton thanked their home crowd profusely after the race, but the multiple world champion also acknowledged the “neighbor”.

– McLaren was like a space rocket. At full speed, it’s absolutely sick, Hamilton praised his competitors on his team radio after the race.

Ferrari’s sad grip on this F1 season continued when Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were ninth and tenth in the race.

Alfa Romeo’s Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas was 12th, after starting the race from last place.

– You can’t be completely satisfied when there are no points, but I think we maximized the result today. Our tactics worked and we were a little lucky with the safety car. At the end, you could see that our speed wouldn’t have been enough, this was what it’s enough for now, Bottas commented after the race in an interview with Viaplay.
