The supporters and partners of Porilaisuimari clinked glasses in honor of the EC medal today in Yyteri, Pori. It was revealed that the swimming career will continue for at least the next six years.

Swimmer Matti Mattsson will continue his career until at least the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.
The man had already said that his racing career would extend to the Paris Olympics, which are two years away.
Mattsson comments on his plan, which takes place six years from now, in a moderate tone.
– If everything goes well and it works, then what’s the matter. However, we must remember that the Olympics is a long time. Let’s go one year at a time.
Mattsson talked about the continuation of his career until the 2028 Olympics with medal coffees in Pori. He won a worthy silver medal in the EC pool in Rome a few weeks ago.
– There aren’t too many of those medals in the closet yet. At least valuable competition medals.
Training must be changed as the years progress
– Yes, it feels good when Jani Sievinen and Antti Kasvion after that you get into that group as the third swimmer. Counting all sports, there are probably 28 such athletes in Finland, Matti Mattsson calculated.
At the age of 29, Mattsson is physiologically at the best age for a top athlete. At the time of the Los Angeles Olympics, the swimmer is already approaching the age limit. The exercise must be modified as the years go by.
– The training will certainly be changed over the years, but 200-meter breaststroke is an endurance sport. But for now, we will continue with this template, i.e. five days a week in the pool and aerobic jogging on Saturdays, Mattsson states.
The reason behind the Olympic bronze medal that was scooped up last year was a significant reduction in the amount of training.
– Yes, the former model, i.e. 11–12 times in the pool in one week, was way too much.
