A 27-year-old man, who had large knife, was arrested Friday night after Chatham-Kent police responded to a disturbance in the area of Murray Street and Princess Street in Chatham.
Police said officers arrived and saw the man with a large knife. Investigation revealed, the man had allegedly assaulted a woman.
The accused was arrested for assault causing bodily harm, assault, weapons dangerous and resisting arrest, police said.
He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
Man charged with assault, uttering threats
A 59-year-old man was arrested early Saturday morning after Chatham-Kent police responded to a domestic disturbance at a John Street residence in Chatham.
Police said it was learned the accused had allegedly assaulted a female.
He was arrested for assault and uttering threats and later released with a May 29 court date.
Man accused of head-butting girlfriend
A 50-year-old Chatham man is allegedly facing charges for head-butting his girlfriend several times and throwing a chair at her.
Chatham-Kent police said the woman came to police headquarters on Thursday to report being the victim of a historical domestic-related assault.
Through investigation, grounds were formed to arrest the victim’s boyfriend for assault and assault with a weapon, police said.
Police said it was determined during a previous heated argument, the accused had allegedly head-butted his girlfriend repeatedly and threw a small wooden chair at her causing it to break
Police said the accused came to police headquarters later on Thursday and turned himself in after being contacted by police.
He was later released with conditions and a short date, police said.
