The alarm came in shortly after 8pm on Friday evening.
– A small group of masked people came forward and then used a stabbing weapon to threaten the man in order to get valuables. The man was then stabbed and injured. The masked people have been removed from the scene, says police spokesperson Rebecca Landberg to TV4 Nyheterna and continues:
– The person must have called for help. The caller who heard this ran to the scene and called 112.
The man who was attacked in Kista, in northern Stockholm, has been taken to hospital by ambulance. According to the police, he is not seriously injured.
Large police operation in northern Stockholm
Right now, a large police operation is underway to find the masked perpetrators.
– They closed certain traffic routes, searched with patrols on foot and also carried out door knocking in the area where this happened, says Rebecca Landberg.
– We do not know exactly how many perpetrators there are, but it is about a handful of people that we are looking for.
The police have started a preliminary investigation concerning attempted robbery, serious assault and illegal threats.
