It was on Friday afternoon that a competition with hovercraft on water was arranged in Huddinge. The deceased man was the driver of one of the hovercrafts and died after being hit.
– V has started a preliminary investigation into negligence in maritime traffic and causing the death of another, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson at the Stockholm Police.
The two hovercrafts involved have been seized and must undergo a technical examination. The police will also go through footage showing the incident.
– We will see if rules and safety regulations have been followed, says Daniel Wikdahl.
As many in the audience witnessed the accident, the municipality’s POSOM group (group for psychological and social care) has been involved.
The injured driver is a man in his 40s and relatives have been informed.
