Man cut with a sharp object in Sandviken

A man in Sandviken has been beaten with a sharp object.
The police are still searching the area for the perpetrator.
– There is a hunt for the perpetrator, we are on site at several locations in Sandviken, says Mathias Rutegård, police spokesperson.

The alarm was received by the police at 17:09 about a man who had been beaten with a sharp knife in Sandviken and several police officers were called to the scene.

The injured man, who is in his 50s, alerted the police himself and has now been taken to hospital. His injuries are said not to be life-threatening and he has been interviewed by the police.

– Initially, they were able to hold a form of initial questioning with him, more will be carried out during the evening, says Mathias Rutegård.

The police have identified the crime scene which is outdoors, but no perpetrator has yet been arrested.

The crime scene has been cordoned off and the police are now working to secure evidence, knock on doors and carry out interviews.
