Man charged after two officers assaulted: Chatham-Kent police

A man has been charged with assaulting police after Chatham-Kent police officers responded to a disturbance call on Lorne Avenue in Chatham on Friday.

Police said officers arrived to find a heavily intoxicated man involved in the disturbance.

When the man would not leave the area, he was eventually arrested under the Liquor License Control Act, police said.

During the arrest, police said the man allegedly grabbed and kicked two officers.

The accused was charged with two counts of assaulting police and released from custody when sober, police said.

Man facing mischief charge

A man has been charged with mischief following an incident at a shelter on Wellington Street in Chatham, reports Chatham-Kent police.

The man was arrested after allegedly breaking a window and door bell in the early hours of Saturday, police said.

He was released with a Feb. 26 short date.
