Man, 19, faces multiple charges in shooting investigation

Police say girl 13 safely located

A 19-year-old man is in custody and faces multiple firearms-related charges following a Monday afternoon incident on Metcalfe Crescent.

Police say the man was arrested at about 3:15 pm without incident. Officers are expected to remain on scene as they conclude the investigation.

Residents on Metcalfe Crescent, between Debby Crescent and North Park Street, were asked to shelter-in-place while Brantford police investigated report of gunfire.

Police said Monday they received a 911 call at about 1 pm about shots fired outside a Metcalfe home.

Officers descended on the scene and remained on scene throughout the afternoon.

In an earlier post on social media, police said no injuries had been reported.

A section of Metcalfe was closed to pedestrians and motorists.

Police say further information will be provided on Twitter and Facebook as the investigation continues.
