Málaga cannot with Oviedo and opens the umbrella of thunder

Ruben Castro added threat for the tremors of Malaga

Malaga continues in its vertiginous race towards self-destruction. He could not get past the draw against a very serious Oviedo at the back and, by the ant’s pace, consolidates his position among the top six. Party with more prudence than game and more fear than chances. The Malaga team is in full swing and only has a two-point advantage over Sanse, the frontier of relegation. The team from Oviedo, for their part, stopped their streak of six consecutive victories but they have gone nine days without losing and are among the top six.

Málaga came out on the fast track after learning that Real Sociedad B, after winning in Fuenlabrada, was blowing on the back of their neck. To meet this challenge, Pablo Guede introduced some changes. Peybernes was not surprised by the bench, whom the coach did not see as suitable to act as Borja Bastón’s police officer. But the debut of the subsidiary Víctor Olmo on the left side instead of Brian Cufré was striking.

Oviedo, with a recognizable proposal where only Lucas was missing, came out controlling the ball. Málaga tensed up its presence with short play and betting on Vadillo’s crosses from the left, the only one capable of shooting between the posts at 45′, at 32′ but without putting Femenías in real trouble. Bastón, well supported by Escassi and whistled by his fans in 2017-18, was looking for his moment. Sekou couldn’t even find him despite his willingness to be generous in the pressure and with the game on his back. Nor did Borja Sánchez and Viti, the Ziganda wasps, overflow. Febas, more worker bee than queen, did not project his talent initiative and the goalkeepers hardly worked. The 21,834 spectators that populated the stands (the 22,128 of 11-22-2021 against Las Palmas were not exceeded) had no nails. Nerves and an Oviedo with rhythm and confidence in that cruising speed that has given him six consecutive victories.

Shield/Flag Oviedo

The second half marked the same parameters; a lot of equality. Ziganda, in his commitment to perseverance, placed dynamite and art with Montiel and Sangalli instead of Mier and Viti. In this 60th minute of the match, the story was that neither of the two opponents had scoring chances. What is fear of fitting in. Dani Martín’s first save came at 67′ on a shot by Montiel.

It was a warning of what Oviedo usually does, bombing with a dropper when measuring its elasticities. At 70′ Guede, looking for depth, puts in Chavarría and Kevin for Sekou (nothing comes out of him and he’s rough) and Vadillo (many crosses and not much money). Seeing that Málaga showed doubts, the stands pressed… and prayed. Nor did Oviedo lower its arms. It has taken him many years to reach playoff positions and it is not a matter of letting this train pass after nine seasons since his return to Second.

Time was flying for Malaga due to the insufficiency of this draw. Those of Guede could not find the right can opener to open the shell of an Oviedo that ended up defending with the ball. The tie leaves different sensations. Agony for Málaga, which is getting closer to the ghost zone and another small step for a rocky Oviedo that adds up and continues..
