Madelyn travels from Australia – for Taylor Swift in Sweden

In May, superstar Taylor Swift will come to Sweden for three concerts. A total of 150,000 people are expected to see Swift in Stockholm and four out of five visitors to the concerts travel to Stockholm, and in total guests are expected from more than 130 different countries.

One of them is Madelyn Harp, who will not only see one of the concerts, but will attend all three. After a desperate hunt for tickets in Australia, she decided to travel to Stockholm instead.

– I would have gone with a friend who is from Sweden. She was supposed to come to Australia and do a concert here, but we couldn’t get tickets. So when we didn’t manage to get tickets in Australia, we thought “why don’t we go to Stockholm instead”, says Madelyn.

Accommodation arranged

Hotel rooms and other accommodations are usually full when world stars like Taylor Swift come to Stockholm, not least considering that four out of five visitors travel to the city to see her.

But for Madelyn, the accommodation is already arranged as she will be staying with her friend who has been living and working in Stockholm for several years.

– There are obviously a lot of people who intend to go to Stockholm then, so I am lucky that I have arranged the accommodation. My friend is so cute that she lets me sleep on her couch, Madelyn says.

Make sure to see Europe

Since it is a long trip, Madelyn says that she will combine the concert visits with traveling around Europe. She has taken a month off to travel around and the first week she will spend in Stockholm, where there will therefore be a Taylor Swift concert on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The whole party will be an expensive story, but Madelyn thinks it’s definitely worth the money.

– If you’re going to travel far, it’s just as well to drive, she laughs.

The plane tickets cost approximately 3,000 Australian dollars, which corresponds to approximately 21,000 Swedish kronor. The tickets for the concert have cost her around 900 Australian dollars, which is approximately 6,300 Swedish kronor. After that, the cost of the rest of the tour in Europe is added.

– If it’s worth it? Absolutely, this will be an experience I will never forget, says Swiftie Madelyn Harp.
