Five horses ran amok at Djurgården in Stockholm. Two people were injured and taken to hospital by ambulance and ambulance helicopter respectively.

Police and ambulance were called on Saturday afternoon to Djurgården in Stockholm due to loose horses running amok. According to the police, it was about five horses, all of which must have been captured at around 4 p.m.
Several eyewitnesses called the police and told them about loose horses on Djurgårdsvägen.
– It was a shock. I was sitting peacefully eating and suddenly there was chaos, says eyewitness Flynn Henwood, who had lunch at the restaurant where the horses were parked.

After that, horses are said to have been seen both on Djurgårdsbron and Gärdet, among other places. Erik Gahlin saw one of the horses lying on the ground.
– It went around a lap without limping as far as I could see. I didn’t see how it happened, but I noticed it when another horse came galloping up Narvavägen. I turned around and saw it lying on the street, says Erik Gahlin.
The police write that at least two people have been injured in connection with the horses running amok. Both people have been taken to hospital. Witnesses on the scene tell TV4 Nyheterna about an elderly man who bled profusely from the head and who must have been taken to hospital in an ambulance helicopter. A woman also left the scene in an ambulance.
– Two people were injured. A man and a woman in their 70s, whose injuries are considered serious, says Per Fahlström, police spokesperson.
The police have opened a preliminary investigation regarding serious bodily harm.
– We have done this to find out how this could have happened and to investigate whether anyone was guilty of a crime. We hold interviews with witnesses and the owners of the horses, says Per Fahlström.
