It was on February 20 this year that a container from Canada arrived at the Port of Gothenburg. During the Customs inspection, 500 kilos of cannabis were found hidden in packages of flooring material.
Prosecutors then made the decision to let the container go on, but under the supervision of the Customs Agency’s detectives. It was driven to an address in Åby outside Norrköping where several people received and began repacking the load. Then customs and police intervened.
Many prison years sentenced
The Gothenburg district court sentences the five men from Norrköping to prison terms between 4 years and 10 months up to 9 years – a total of almost 36 years. The crime classifications are consistently extremely serious drug trafficking and extremely serious drug crime.
A 26-year-old who has now been given a protected identity is sentenced to 5 years and 4 months for serious drug offences.
