According to Sky News, explosions were heard in Jerusalem. Sirens sound in several areas of Israel, according to the IDF.
In northern Israel, warning sirens sounded after rockets were fired from Lebanon, the IDF announced according to Haaretz. Hezbollah says rockets were fired at the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights.
The IDF is instructing residents of the northern Golan Heights, as well as the towns of Nevatim, Dimona and Eilat to stay close to protected areas until further notice. In all areas there are military targets.
The White House announces that the United States will support Israel’s defense forces against Iran’s attack on the country. It does not go into what form the support will take.
“The United States will stand with the Israeli people and support their defense against these threats from Iran,” National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said in a statement.
