Linn Svahn reveals the one thing she refuses to do after winning a race – praised by TV profile Johanna Ojala: “Brave”

Linn Svahn is back at the top of the world again.
She has always followed her own path in her career and inspires so many.
And there is one thing she refuses to do after winning a race.

After a few tough years is Lynn Svahn back to serious again. She has made it through two years of injuries, surgeries and rehabilitation to get back to the top of the world and now she is skiing like never before.

Svahn’s great success

The Swede has lined up victories at the World Cup in recent months and leads the Sprint Cup ahead of the end of the season, as well as being in second place in the overall World Cup standings. Svahn is known for his big winning head and uncompromising attitude in all situations.

She has her principles and refuses to back down, which has been her style throughout her skiing career. Ever since the big breakthrough as a 20-year-old when she surprised the entire skiing world with her amazing talent and unique personality.

Linn refuses

Already at a young age, she put her foot down firmly and refused to do like the competition when victories on the women’s side were usually celebrated with a jump in front of the photographers. But ever since the breakthrough, Linn Svahn has refused to jump to celebrate a World Cup victory.
– I see no point in jumping. They are welcome to jump next to me, but I jump on a trampoline and not in the goal area, where I like to let my legs rest a bit, she said already in 2021.
– I think it is very outdated that only ladies should jump and not men. I find it sad that it is such a tradition. But if you want to jump, you can do it, but I don’t think you should have to jump on command just because you’re a woman. I think that’s sad.

Svahn inspired many with her words and nowadays you rarely see the female skiers celebrating with shots after the races, just to get funny victory pictures at the request of the photographers. The Swede’s stance is highly praised by the television profile Johanna Ojala.
– I asked her (Linn) and she said: “Who decides that it is this way? Who created the culture? We never see the male winners jump. They have to stand this way,” says the Viaplay presenter.
– She is clear that everyone can do what they want, but that she stands and wants to rest her legs. This is also breaking the norm. She breaks a lot of norms and I find it so refreshing. Ebba Andersson has been thinking about the same thing. It’s strong, I like it. Courageously.

Also the Norwegian TV2 expert Petter Soleng Skinstad praised Svahn for taking on all the jumping on the women’s side.
– It is very good that someone is rebelling against this. There are male photographers standing and asking the ladies to jump, but they are not asking the men to do the same, he says to the Norwegian TV channel.
– You should not be forced to jump because you are a woman. It’s ridiculous to watch.
