Linn Svahn and Frida Karlsson’s honest words about their rivals’ cheating at the World Cup: “It’s scary”

There may be doped skiers at the World Cup.
Now our Swedish cross-country skiers react to the suspicions.
– It sounds scary, says Maja Dahlqvist to Aftonbladet.

It’s been a while since a cross-country skier at the World Cup was caught for doping. But even so, suspicions are still great against the widespread cheating in the skiing world.

Cheating at the World Cup

When Aftonbladet conducted a survey with 40 different skiers from several nations, the numbers show clearly. The question was “do you think there are doped skaters who compete in the World Cup?”

More than half (52.5 percent) of the questioned riders answered yes to that question. A result that surprises most of the Swedish national skiing team.
– It sounds scary. Then maybe I’m very blonde and blue-eyed and think no one is doped. I think it feels completely sick, but at the same time it could very well be that way when you think about it, says Maja Dahlqvist to the evening paper.

Svahn and Karlsson

While Frida Karlsson sees the best in all its competitors and does not want to draw too harsh conclusions from this survey.
– I am quite gullible. Before it is disproved, I want to believe good, says Frida in a statement.

Lynn Svahn also have a very hard time believing that there are doping cases in the World Cup right now.
– It’s not something I think about at all and it’s not something I would like to think about either. My thinking is that no one is doped, then they wouldn’t be here. Period, says Linn to the newspaper.

But she is also not particularly surprised by the result, that so many believe there are doped competitors on the ski slopes.
– No, maybe not. It is quite natural to be skeptical of your competitors. But I want to see them as co-competitors instead of counter-competitors. If you do that, I think the attitude is that everyone wants it as clean as possible and then you’re not here if you’re doped.
