Linda discovered chips in the Veet cream: “Like razor-sharp needles”

It was last Friday that 29-year-old Linda Vesterlund, who lives just outside Härnösand, was going to use Veet’s hair removal agent “Silky Fresh Hair Removal Cream” when she suddenly felt it start to sting in her hands and legs.

She has previously used the product without any problems, and was therefore surprised when she saw the sharp chips collected in her hands.

– I thought that something must be wrong because it shouldn’t be like this. It should be smooth like a skin cream or like a rather greasy ointment, she says.

Chose to pay attention to others

In connection with the discovery, she decided to post a post in a group on Facebook, partly to make others aware of the find and partly to ask if there were more people than herself who had been affected.

And it would turn out she wasn’t alone, because during the post, the comments started pouring in.

– There were many who had been involved. It was also in other products from the same manufacturer, says Linda Vesterlund.

Contacted the store and the manufacturer

She also decided to contact the store where she bought the product, and was then asked to come back with the product and the receipt to get a new one.

– But I felt that I didn’t want to hand it in in case the manufacturer gets in touch and wants it in to check it out. It also doesn’t feel great to get a new product that will probably have the same problem, she says.

Although Linda Vesterlund did not suffer any serious injuries, she thinks it feels a little uncomfortable.

– I got small red puncture marks, but it doesn’t feel so good to get puncture wounds if there are a lot of chemicals and bacteria that might get into the skin. There can certainly be infections if you are unlucky.

She has also tried to contact Veet in search of answers.

– Several have tried to contact them, but no one has received feedback, she says.
