18-year-old Olivia Lobato’s “Lilacs” has been used in a whopping 101,300 videos with a total of 59 million views. The song was already released in 2021, but a sped-up version went viral on Tiktok during the summer.

In second place is Ted Gärdestad’s “I’ll catch an angel” which is used in 28,900 videos that have been viewed a total of 68 million times. In a scene in the Netflix series “Clark”, the entire ensemble dances with Clark in the lead to Gärdestad’s song from 1973, which created a new dance trend among Swedish Tiktok users.

It is a known phenomenon that music popularized on Tiktok quickly climbs the charts worldwide and many new artists have also made their way through using the platform.

The third most played song of the summer is “Pastavatten” by Sommarkatten, which appeared in 34,200 videos with a total of 34 million views. It is followed by Molly Sandén’s “Vi:et i vinsten”, Sweden’s official football European Championship song, which is used in 25,900 videos with a total of 30 million views.
