Lebanon fears a new influx of Syrian refugees fleeing the

Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib called for financial aid to Syria during a meeting with his counterparts in the Arab League in Cairo. According to him, this is to avoid “serious repercussions” on neighboring countries. Syria is in free fall despite its return to the Arab fold last May: a political step which has not been followed by investments. Lebanon, which already has more than 1.5 million Syrian refugees, says it fears a new influx.
