The alarm about the avalanche at Kebnekaise came in to SOS Alarm at 11.27 on Tuesday morning.
At 1:30 p.m., the police announce that a person has been taken to hospital by helicopter. The person will receive treatment in Norway, the extent of the damage is unclear.
No more people should be in the avalanche, according to the police.
According to the Maritime and Air Rescue Centre, work is now underway to transport people from the avalanche area down to the Kebnekaise mountain station.
Mountain rescuers and dogs participate in the mountain rescue effort.
