A person crashed his four-wheeler this evening and had the vehicle roll over him, local media reports.

The accident occurred in the forest outside Torestorp in Marks municipality shortly before 7 p.m.

– The person is awake and able to speak and has himself called 112. We have managed to get to the scene and managed to remove the four-wheeler, says Pontus Studahl, officer on duty at Södra Älvsborg’s rescue services association, to Borås Newspaper.

According to Mark-Posten the emergency services had to use a six-wheeler to get the person out.

At 8 p.m., the person had been taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

  • Shooting in Örebro – police hunt for perpetrators

    A shooting occurred in the Oxhagen district in Örebro on Sunday afternoon, reports Nerikes Allehanda.

    The police classify the incident as aggravated weapons offense and attempted murder.

  • Snowmobiles have collided with trees

    A rescue operation was launched in Härjedalsfjällen this afternoon, after a snowmobile ran into a tree.

    The snowmobile driver was injured and had to be taken by ambulance helicopter to Östersund Hospital.

    There is no information on how serious the injuries are.

  • Last Nuremberg prosecutor dead

    Benjamin “Ben” Ferencz, the last living prosecutor from the Nuremberg Trials, has died.

    He was one of those who put the Nazis on trial for genocide and war crimes after the end of World War II. In 1947, he helped prosecute 22 Nazi commanders for the murders of over a million people – all were convicted, several to death.

    Ferencz also, as one of the first outsiders, personally witnessed the horrors of the concentration camps, writes TT.

    He also co-founded the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

    Ben Ferencz fell asleep at his home in Boynton Beach, Florida last Friday. He lived to be 103 years old.

  • Man who was shot by police has been arrested

    The man who was shot by the police in connection with an intervention in Karlskrona during the night of Friday has been detained, writes TT.

    The man, who is in his 30s, had broken into a home. According to SVT, the man was armed with an ax and chainsaw.

    The police described the situation as threatening.

    The man is now in custody on suspicion of attempted murder and damage.

  • Teachers asked students to write their obituaries

    A Florida teacher has been fired after assigning students to write their own obituaries, reports say NBC News.

    The task was given before an exercise in how to act during a school shooting.

    The 63-year-old psychology teacher does not think he did anything wrong. He says he wanted the teenage students to reflect on their own lives during the exercise.

    – It wasn’t to scare them or make them feel like they were going to die, but just to help them understand what’s important in life, he says to the TV channel.

  • Man killed in scooter accident

    A 55-year-old man has died after a snowmobile accident in Tärnaby in Storuman municipality on Saturday, writes TT.

    The man was taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter, but on Sunday, Region Västerbotten reported that the man died of his injuries.

    – It was a side collision, where the snowmobile had driven into the side of the passenger car, stated Hans Lindmark, RLC officer at the police in Umeå to VK.

    The incident is being investigated as negligence in traffic.

  • Collision in Gothenburg led to stop in tunnel

    Two cars have collided in Gothenburg.

    The accident led to the closure of the Tingstad Tunnel just after three o’clock on Sunday.

    – There is a stop in the direction of Hisingen, says Thomas Fuxborg at the police in the west region.

    It is unclear when the tunnel can open up to traffic again.

  • Chainsaw man wanted in custody

    A man was shot in the leg by police in Karlskrona during the night of Friday. The man is in his 30s and had broken into a home, armed with both an ax and a chainsaw, according to information to SVT News Blekinge.

    The police had to open fire when the man allegedly refused to follow instructions.

    The man is now requested to be detained on probable cause on suspicion of attempted murder, SVT reports.

  • Suspect driver convicted of terrorist-like threats

    A man in his 30s is suspected of killing a man and injuring two people in Steinkjer, Norway.

    According to Norwegian VG The man has been convicted of crimes on several occasions.

    In 2016, on his way home from a party, he placed rocks and other heavy objects on a train track. However, the train driver managed to stop the train in time.

    Two years later, the man lost his driver’s license.

    He has also been sentenced for messages he wrote.

    There he wrote that he wanted to kill more people than Anders Breivik who killed 77 people in a terrorist attack on Utøya and in the government quarter.

    During a press conference, the police confirm that the man is known to them from before, but do not want to go into details.

    The man is suspected of involuntary manslaughter.

    There is currently nothing to indicate that more people were involved in the incident.

  • The Pope gave an Easter address

    Pope Francis, 86, today delivered his annual Easter Day speech Urbi et Orbi” (“To the City and the World”) from the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican.

    100,000 people had gathered in Petersplatsen to listen to the Pope – so almost as many as the entire municipality of Borås.

    The Pope appealed for peace in Ukraine, and prayed for the victims of the war, writes TT. He also called on Israelis and Palestinians to create a “climate of trust” in light of recent events.

    Pope Francis has struggled with poor health in recent times. Recently he was treated in hospital for bronchial catarrh and had to cancel the traditional Good Friday Calvary walk due to cold weather.

  • Four dead and several injured in avalanche

    Four people have died after an avalanche in the French Alps, reports the French news channel BFMTV.

    According to local media, the accident occurred in the Haute-Savoie region at around 11.30am.

    Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin writes on Twitter that the emergency services are working at the scene.

    “My thoughts go out to the victims and their loved ones,” he writes.
