One person arrested for attempted murder

During Tuesday evening, the police were alerted to a knife attack in Mjölby municipality.

At the scene, a man was found badly injured with a sharp cut.

The police arrested two people, one of whom was a man in his 20s, in the case. Later they chose to release one of them later.

  • Ekot’s review: Apotekets discloses customers’ purchases

    Over 100 online pharmacies around Europe share information about their customers with Facebook, an audit from Echo.

    Among other things, information is shared about customers who turn to the pharmacy for potency problems, bowel problems and to buy HIV and pregnancy tests.

    “I am shocked. This is data that the pharmacies are not allowed to share with anyone,” says Social Democratic EU Member of Parliament Paul Tang.

    The details of the purchases, as well as the customers’ names and phone numbers, are shared via a tracking tool called a pixel. According to the radio, the pharmacy uses the tool without the customers’ approval. And that the motive behind it may be to be able to direct advertising in social media to the same customers.

    To Ekot, Facebook’s ownership company Meta refers to the rules that the company has written and that they use a filter to catch and prevent the spread of sensitive information. However, Meta states that they “can’t catch everything all the time”.

  • Marketing cosmetic procedures may be illegal

    Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is suing Republican Jim Jordan over his “brazen and unconstitutional” attempt to sabotage the investigation into Donald Trump, reports The Wall Street Journal.

    Trump has been indicted on 34 counts of various accounting violations. Among other things, by paying “hush money” to porn star Story Daniels for an alleged affair.

    Jim Jordan has protested the decision.

    “First, they impeach a president for no crime. Then they sue us when we ask questions about the federal funds,” he says.

    Now the President of the United States has landed in Northern Ireland. Biden will already have a short meeting with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak during the evening.

    On Wednesday, he will then meet with Northern Irish political leaders before giving a speech at Ulster University in Belfast. During his trip, Biden will also go to Ireland’s capital Dublin to meet with President Michael Higgins and Prime Minister Leo Varadkar.

  • Robbers have taken hostages in a bank

    A robber struck the Wells Fargo bank in Arlington, USA, on Tuesday, police said on Twitter.

    The robber allegedly barricaded himself in the bank and took four adults and a child hostage,

    A large police operation was underway at the scene with hostage negotiators and snipers.

    After an hour, the police stated that the people were able to leave the bank unharmed.

    The perpetrator has been arrested.

  • Brazil may buy more Jas Gripen planes

    Brazil is considering buying more Jas Gripen planes (which are manufactured by the defense group Saab), according to Brazilian Defense Minister José Mucio Monteiro, TT reports with reference to the Reuters news agency.

    – The Brazilian Air Force has said that it needs (more Gripen planes). We are taking a closer look and reviewing it, says the minister at a defense industry fair in Rio de Janeiro.

    He adds that meetings with the Swedish ambassador are already to begin.

    Since 2014, Brazil and Sweden have an agreement where 36 Gripen planes are to be delivered to Brazil before 2027.

    Now the country may initially add four planes to that agreement and then order another 30, according to Reuters.

    At the same time, Saab announces in a press release that the group and the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer have signed a letter of intent regarding future business opportunities.
