The Italian politician Franco Frattini has died after being treated in hospital for cancer, reports the news agency Ansa. He was foreign minister in Silvio Berlusconi’s governments 2002–2004 and 2008–2011.
He also ran for the post of Secretary General of NATO, a post that went to former Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg.
Franco Frattini turned 65.

Abolishes the death penalty
Zambia is abolishing the death penalty, something that President Hakainde Hichilema had as an election promise when he was elected president in 2021.

Fewer holes during the pandemic
Children’s dental health does not appear to have generally worsened during the pandemic.

17 dead in the bomb cyclone

Death toll rises after attack in Kherson
