Police, rescue services, home guards and voluntary organizations are participating in a large search effort for an elderly woman in Strängnäs who had been missing since Saturday, local media reports.
The search has been ongoing since the weekend but was expanded on Monday evening. Both dog handlers, drones and helicopters have been used in the search effort.
– It has become more urgent to get hold of her as time goes on, says police spokesperson Marcus Anefur to SVT Nyheter Sörmland.
The woman disappeared at lunchtime on Saturday when she set off on foot from a nursing home in central Strängnäs. The police do not suspect any crime in connection with the disappearance.
