Large loads of potatoes dumped on Danish roads – one person arrested

The driver is suspected of endangering the life and safety of the public. At the same time, Danish police are investigating other potato incidents.

The police are investigating the connection

On the E45 road between Skærup and Kolding in Jutland there were reports of potatoes on the road in the morning and near the bridge over the Great Belt potatoes had been dropped or tipped off in another place.

— Now we will investigate whether the potatoes were tipped off on purpose and whether there may be a connection between the various incidents, says the police spokesperson Sunniva Pedersen-Reng.

New road toll for trucks has been introduced

On Thursday, the Norwegian parliament is considering a bill on a new road toll for trucks, which Danish drivers and drivers previously protested strongly against, including by blocking highways.

But a spokesman for the protesters denies that the potato incidents have anything to do with discontent over the toll.
