Kokkonen saved Karlskoga in the fateful meeting

On Wednesday evening, Karlskoga over Kalmar with a whopping 6-0 – which evened the match series. Thus, it was a decisive match that was fought in the Nobel Hall on Thursday.

There, it was also the home team that would get the best start when Eskild Bakke Olsen carefully pushed in the lead goal in the middle of the first period.

1–0 then faced the second period. There, however, it was Kalmar and Jesper Sellin who would find the net when they equalized after 09:14.

But the Småland people’s joy was short-lived. This is because Jesper Kokkonen was able to make it 2-1 just two minutes later – a goal that was the last of the second period.

Thus, a dramatic conclusion awaited this decisive match. Kalmar also pressed for an equaliser, but the result did not materialize and instead it was Karlskoga and Otto Stenberg who would find the right goal with barely four minutes left to play.

When Jesper Kokkonen and Simen Andre Edvardsen then sent in 4– and 5–1 respectively in empty nets, the match was decided and Karlskoga was able to hold on and secure a 2–1 victory in this match series, which means that they advance to the quarter-finals. For Kalmar, the loss means that the season is over for the newcomer.
