In the story of the film, directed by Housebound director Gerard Johnstone, Katie (Violet McGraw) is given a fully automatic doll by her aunt Gemma (Allison Williams) after the death of her parents. She is supposed to cheer up the girl, but instead M3gan turns out to be nasty killer machine!
