It was last spring that Kalix municipality started working with the new school method in some schools. It was quickly criticized, among other things, for the use of restraints on students.
– It is abuse of the children, said the psychologist Bo Hejlskov Elvén.
After the storm, the municipality decided to pause the method and for an independent review to take place.
Trust spent
But instead of deciding on an examiner, the education board chose to break up the collaboration with the School Consultants.
– Due to the great concern that has been received about the new way of working in the school, the proposal is that the collaboration with the School Consultants ends as of today’s date, says chairman Viktoria Wikström (S), and continues:
– We make this proposal against the background of the fact that the trust in Skolkonsulterna AB has been used up by many, which makes it impossible for them to currently have reasonable conditions to complete the assignment during the short time that remains when the assignment period expires in October.
Everyone in the committee was unanimous in the decision.
