Jukurit, who became a phenomenon of the league season, was surprised at the end of January, when the board of the entire background company resigned at once. The new board will be piloted by investor Heikki Viitikko.

The previous government left its seat and stated that there is a distrust of the largest owner behind it Heikki Viitikon with. Viitikko had resigned from the board a year earlier.

Viitikko himself said that he had informed the government that he would stop funding the Jukuri unless changes related to strengthening the economy could be achieved.

The new board elected at the Extraordinary General Meeting on Wednesday are the second largest shareholder, the chairman of the previous board Jukka Toivakka mixed Kai Simola and Olli-Pekka Randelin. Only Randelin is a new member, but some members of the previous board were left out.

According to Jukure’s press release, the most important task of the new board is to strengthen the company’s finances in the wake of the two-year interest rate pandemic and to build new business that will enable it to continue and develop its operations.

Viitikko owns about 27 percent of Jukureid’s backing company, Toivakka 24. Viitikko has also financed the company through capital loans.

Jukurit plays a new coach Olli Jokisen led by a strong league season and is currently second in the regular season.
