How does the collection of waste paper work in De Ronde Venen?
Associations can earn money with waste paper in two ways. One way is as Jos does it: handing in the collected cardboard to your own paper container. In addition, associations can provide volunteers to collect paper from the blue bins with a municipal waste truck.
The associations receive a fixed amount per kiloton. The paper price is fixed for a longer period of time, because the paper price fluctuates a lot.
It does not matter to the municipality whether the paper is collected via the paper container or the waste truck. The amount of money is the same for both options. The municipality responds: “How waste paper is collected is of secondary importance to us – as long as as much as possible is collected.”
