Jonna Sundling is forced to act on Frida and Ebba’s instructions – honest words about the tough decision: “I don’t feel calm”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Frida Karlsson, Ebba Andersson and Linn Svahn.
Several stars are ill and miss this weekend’s competitions – and that causes Jonna Sundling to act.
– I don’t feel calm, she says.

There is a real loss of stars when the World Cup finally came to Falun and home ground. Frida Karlsson, Ebba Andersson, Linn Svahn and William Poromaa are all ill and will miss Friday’s distance race, and overall there has been a serious contagion in the national team after the WC.

“I don’t feel calm”

Colds can be devastating for ski stars. Elvira Öberg, who certainly does biathlon, still hasn’t recovered from a cold she caught during the WC, and she says she doesn’t recognize her body after it. And for the stars of the national cross-country team who are still healthy, great sacrifices now await.

Calle Halfvarsson, in order not to risk contagion from the family, has, for example, taken himself into a hotel. And even Jonna Sundling is forced to make other choices and decisions to ensure that she stays healthy.

– I’m not going to say that you feel calm when everyone around you falls ill. I focus on not being around so many people, having good hygiene and mostly being to myself, says Jonna Sundling to Expressen.

The drastic decisions

Jonna Sundling tells SVT that it can almost be compared to isolation.

– We sanitize our hands, wash our hands, make sure not to be close to so many people and have our own dining room. Then we take food from a buffet, then you have to be careful there, wash your hands before and after. Then I’m also very much to myself, so I try as best I can to stay healthy, she says.

Jonna Sundling thinks, understandably, that it is not a very fun existence. But the end of the season is not far away now.

– There isn’t much left of the season now, so it’s just a matter of holding on and persevering. But it’s going well.
