Evaluating the relations between Russia and Kazakhstan, Putin stated that his country ranks first among Kazakhstan’s commercial and economic partners.
Stating that “the bilateral trade volume increased by 34.4 percent last year and by 9 percent in the first five months of this year,” Putin said that the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries will be celebrated in October.
Stating that activities are planned in this context, Putin said, “Our foreign and defense ministries are preparing various activities, including joint exercises within the scope of the CSTO.” said.
Kazakhstan President Tokayev stated that he is determined to improve relations with Russia and said, “There is no reason to make pessimistic predictions about the future of our cooperation.” he said.
Noting that his country is chairing the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) this year, Tokayev shared his hope that Putin will attend the CIS summit scheduled for October.
