Jessica Kähärä’s wild record breaking streak and Reetta Hurskee’s SE time – here are all the highlights of the GP evening that opened the athletics summer

This is what Hurske commented after his final run

Reetta Hurskee’s day in the women’s 100m hurdles was fantastic. In the preliminaries, he beat the SE time with 12.70 and in the second one with an excellent 12.80.

– I am really satisfied with how good that first run was. We set out to win the second run. It wasn’t as progressive as the first round.

Hurske has been in a good mood throughout this year. Lately, however, he has been focused on training, so the competitive mood was a bit of a puzzle.

– I knew I was in good shape. The weeks of training have not been self-satisfying. It’s nice that it’s running in the games, so you can do something else in training.

Hurskee’s self-confidence is not yet at the level of the Halli era. That’s when he won the 60-meter European championship and set several Finnish records.

– Such competitions raise it. Even though it’s sticky in training, it’s like this in the races. Those are the times when you can do well internationally.

According to Hurske, the SE run got off to a good start. In the middle of the race, he bumped into the fences a bit.

– I had to raise my running a bit in a more upright direction. These are things that you can’t really train in training.
