Jenny Rissved’s brand new challenge – the Olympic gold hero will now do something she has never done before

Olympic gold hero Jenny Rissveds has won the hearts of many Swedes.
Now the cyclist must take on a completely new kind of challenge in his career.
– I am super grateful for the opportunity, she says in a press release.

It was during the 2016 Summer Olympics that Jenny Rissved got his big break and became a blue-and-yellow national hero. When she won a very impressive Olympic gold medal in mountain biking.

Rissved’s victory

Since then, the Swede has had a few tough years with mental health problems and depression. Where she had a longer timeout from the sport, but the 28-year-old has managed to come back and found her love for cycling.

Rissveds has also taken on other cycling competitions than just mountain biking. Earlier this year, the Swede won the overall victory in the Gracia-Orlova road cycling race, and it gave a great boost to road cycling.

The new challenge

Now Jenny Rissveds will take on the great challenge of competing in the prestigious Tour de France this summer.
– It’s fun, it’s good training, she’s developing as a cyclist. She likes to drive on country roads, says the team manager Robert Whitlock in her mountain bike team to Dagens Nyheter.
– It is not entirely easy to combine these two things, but she was given the opportunity through Coop to do it, and then she chose to take on the challenge.

28-year-old Rissveds has signed for the professional team Team Coop-Hitec Products and will combine it with her mountain bike season. With her new team, she therefore gets the opportunity to compete in the classic cycling competition.

This year the women’s Tour de France will be decided over eight different stages and will run from July 23rd to July 30th.
– I want to gain more experience on the road, and I am super grateful for the opportunity to become part of Team Coop-Hitec Products, says the Swede in a first statement on the new team’s official website.
