Jacques Schwarz-Bart, black sax in Harlem

Jacques Schwarz Bart black sax in Harlem

Through his jazz melodies, Guadeloupean saxophonist Jacques Schwarz-Bart invites us on an inspired musical journey to the temple of world jazz: New York and the Harlem district.

The new album by saxophonist Jacques Schwarz-Bart is rich in color. With the flapping of the wings of a swinging butterfly, it makes us twirl freely between the Caribbean, Africa and the temple of New York jazz. A city in which he spent 20 years, played with other big names, and fully participated in the creative ferment of the Big Apple.

Ten titles like so many chapters of a collection of short stories, or like the stages of a musical journey that reflect his journey and his inspirations, and that pay homage to the history and the inhabitants of the Harlem district.

The Harlem Suite », the new album of Jacques Schwarz-Bart is available on Ropeadope Records / L’Autre Distribution.
