In Côte d’Ivoire, justice has lifted the judicial control which weighed on several political figures, including Pascal Affi N’Guessan, the leader of the Ivorian Popular Front, who welcomes an “act of relaxation”. This also targets the executive secretary of the Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire (PDCI), Maurice Kakou Guikahué, whose candidacy for the Extraordinary Congress of December 16 had been ruled out at the beginning of the week because of this legal measure: this decision could put him back in the saddle for the election at the head of the party.
