When Italian MP Emanuele Pozzolo brought a gun to a New Year’s party, the evening ended with one of the guests being shot in the thigh.

Now Pozzolo – who belongs to the ruling Italian brothers – is suspended from his party, announced Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

The guest was not seriously injured and Emanuele Pozzolo swears that he was not the one who fired the shot. Despite that, the news has spread around the world and the criticism from the opposition has been great.

“The shot was accidentally fired from a gun I legally owned, but it was not me who fired,” Pozzolo said earlier this week.

During her traditional New Year’s press conference, a frustrated Meloni points out that she does not know all the facts surrounding the incident.

– But someone was irresponsible and the one who was irresponsible is the owner of the weapon, she says.
