ITA Airways expresses interest in operating for one year to

(Finance) – ITA Airways communicates his willingness to operate on the main routes in territorial continuity to and from Sardinia according to the conditions of the Decree of the Ministry of Infrastructures and Sustainable Mobility n. 466 of 25 November 2021 to fly from 15 May 2022 until 14 May 2023 from Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate to Alghero, Cagliari and Olbia and vice versa.

ITA Airways will guarantee i daily flights with Sardinia on all six main routes in Territorial Continuity from the three Sardinian airports thus ensuring the mobility of Sardinian citizens and the connectivity of the territories of the Region with domestic, international and intercontinental destinations operated by ITA Airways and its partner carriers.

Despite the extreme exceptionality of the contingent situation given by the continuous increase in the cost of fuel, which in recent weeks has registered an increase of 40%, the national airline has decided to fly without compensation from the Sardinia Region, equally guaranteeing a public service while maintaining extremely advantageous rates in support of the Sardinian population to demonstrate its firm will to actively contribute to the country system and be a fundamental pillar for Italy’s connectivity and economic development at a time, moreover, of profound global uncertainty.

ITA Airways will continue to work together with all the stakeholders involved to allow this operation to represent an opportunity to enhance the assets in the long term.
