Is Lupine season 4 coming? Series creator teases Netflix sequel and these 3 things could happen

Anyone who has already watched the 7 episodes of the 3rd season of Lupine on Netflix will inevitably ask themselves after the very last cliffhanger what the situation is with season 4 of the Netflix series. Will Omar Sy return as gentleman crook Assane Diop? Apparently plans are already being made in the background and we expect nothing less than a master plan. Three connecting points in particular are particularly exciting.

Is Lupine Season 4 Coming to Netflix? That’s what the series creator says

Since the series started in 2021, the crime series Lupine has been extremely successful on Netflix. Even with season 3, the popularity of the master thief continues, which is a 4th season probably might. It hasn’t been officially ordered by Netflix yet, but series creator George Kay has already expressed confidence to Variety:

Of course we have worked hard on these seasons and we have to wait and see how the world reacts to them. […] But when you create character dynamics like ours, you are preparing a series that can have a long life. There are no concerns and no problem continuing with it. […] Lupin definitely has the sizeif it is necessary.

After parts 1 and 2 of Lupine were released just half a year apart (which worked because they were filmed together), the now released part 3 took over two years to arrive. Accordingly, one would be ordered 4th part of Lupin probably first 2025 start.

Hotly anticipated new rival: What’s planned for Lupine season 4?

Warning, spoilers for the season 3 finale of Lupine: At the end of episode 7, Assane Diop (Omar Sy) ends up in prison of his own free will. Nevertheless, it is a victory because he was able to capture his opponent Keller and save his family and accomplice Benjamin. By reading all of Maurice Leblanc’s Lupine novels* he plans to let the matter grow. At least up to the point where he has one in the last scene everything-changing letter is plugged in. Now several things can happen in season 4 of the Netflix series:

1. An old villain becomes important again in Lupin’s 4th season

Since the letter comes from the old enemy that Assane fought in parts 1 and 2 and ultimately put in prison, it should
Hubert Pellegrini (Hervé Pierre) will become important again in season 4. Was he the mastermind all along or is there more to it? Will there be a reunion with his daughter Juliette (Clotilde Hesme)? Lupin’s dog friend J’accuse will have a lot to bark about when the name Pellegrini is mentioned more often again.

2. In Netflix’s fourth season of Lupine, not everyone is who they seem

Even more disturbing, however, is what Pellegrini’s letter suggests: he apparently took advantage of Assane’s love so that he could no longer see clearly. Just love for who? The narrator’s voice superimposed over the lines appears Assane’s mother Mariama (Naky Sy Savane).

Was the master thief betrayed by his own mother? Was her kidnapping just a fake or a double game designed to motivate the thefts and get him emotionally involved? Or is the woman not his mother at all, since Assane Diop hasn’t seen Mariama since he was a child? The only thing that is certain is that the mysterious woman is… Allies of Pellegrini poses a danger to Assane’s wife, son and friend Benjamin.

3. Lupin’s series creator brings a crazy new enemy into the game

Lupine creator George Kay made another interesting suggestion to Radio Times: Apparently the creative people behind the Netflix series have been thinking about making one out of the books for a long time Introduce Lupin’s iconic opponent: Herlock Homeswhich is blatantly based on the British master detective Sherlock Holmes.

[Herlock Shomes] was of course a double finger for copyright at the time […] but I like the attitude behind it. To be honest, we discussed it [ihn einzuführen]. We circle a few ideas that I’d really like to pursue further would. Connecting fans of Arsène Lupine and Sherlock Holmes on a meta level […] would be really cool.

In any case, there are many starting points with which the Netflix series could make a fourth season of Lupine a new hit.
