The Iranian prosecutor calls for the death penalty for imprisoned Johan Floderus, AFP reports.

The Swede is accused of “corruption on earth”.

– Considering the serious nature, I demand the maximum sentence, says the prosecutor.

The trial against Johan Floderus, 33, has now ended in Iran.

During the final negotiations, the prosecutor accused the Swede of “very extensive intelligence cooperation with the Zionist occupation regime” and said he was guilty of “corruption on earth”

He then sought the death penalty.

– Considering the serious nature, I demand the maximum sentence, says the prosecutor.

Floderus was arrested at Tehran airport on April 17, 2022 and has been detained since then.

The Swedish government has dismissed the accusations as false and demanded that he be released.

A date for when the verdict will be announced has not yet been set.
