Rebecca Immonen Sunday morning brought quite a change when his phone rang at a quarter past seven.

– (Women’s coach Ville) Maunuksela called that we should leave at five instead of eight, Immonen laughed between testing the skis.

Although Maunuskela’s call came quite early, he did not manage to wake up Immo.

– Fortunately, I wake up early. I had already been awake at six thirty and had breakfast, so there was no rush.

There was a good reason for Maunuskela’s call, because Krista in Pärmäkoski has a sore throat and missed the message. Immonen now gets the chance to show his skills as a skier in the second part of the Finnish team.

Immonen was one of the Finnish team’s most diligent ski testers in the morning, but there was a reason for that as well.

– I got it From Jasmi (Joensuu) a couple of pairs for the test when you don’t have your own butt skis with you. But fortunately the monos and poles were found.

Today’s message is Immonen’s first adult national team message. He admitted that the situation is exciting.

– It’s really cool to go skiing and a great place for the second leg. Of course, it’s a tough part and you’ll definitely end up in a pretty tough place, but let’s go enjoy it.

Jasmi Joensuu and Rebecca Immonen ski the traditional sections of the Finnish team, free Riitta-Liisa Roponen and Vilma Ryytty.

Update at 10:59: Clarified that Krista Pärmäkoski has a sore throat.
