In Cote dIvoire African countries are studying agroforestry to increase

A year after COP15, in Abidjan, politicians and scientists from Ghana, Cameroon and Senegal met for two days in the Ivorian economic capital to discuss solutions in order to sustainably manage the fertility of forest soils. Among the alternatives mentioned is agroforestry, which makes it possible to combine trees and agricultural crops on the same plot. In Côte d’Ivoire, where almost 80% of the forest cover has disappeared due to cocoa cultivation, this experience could well improve farming practices.
