His animated films are known all over the world. The universe of the Japanese Hayao Miyazaki is displayed on an immense tapestry which has just been unveiled in Aubusson. In this small town in central France, we have been weaving tapestries for six centuries and this know-how is listed as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by Unesco. The Ashitaka tapestry relieves his demonic wound, inspired by the film Princess Mononoke, is the first of a series of five, of which the International Tapestry City has ordered local manufacturers.
