Having become one of the essential events in the new technologies sector, the annual I/O conference is the ideal place to announce new strategies for the Mountain View firm. This year, the event is expected to provide a preview of what awaits consumers in terms of its Android 15 ecosystem, both in terms of software and hardware. For its conference last year, AI was already part of the debates. To cope with the emergence of ChatGPT, the company launched its own Google Bard assistant. The opening conference will take place very precisely this Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. (French time). Google has not failed to advertise the event and is even counting on the participation of certain members of the media to whom they have extended the invitation. So, the brand is meeting them at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain Review in California. What new features are expected?
No list has officially been revealed but the rumors which have continued to increase for weeks and months reveal major new developments.
The first would concern an upcoming software update for Android 15. While the Beta version is already available for testing phases, it is very likely that Google will reveal more about its next upcoming update. In particular, we should expect improvements and new features in terms of productivity and confidentiality.
On the product side, the Google Pixel 8a has faced numerous rumors in recent weeks. Already officially unveiled last week and scheduled for sale in France tomorrow, the new smartphone should not be the subject of details by the brand. The update on Artificial Intelligence will likely be at the center of this Google I/O 2024 conference. In close competition with ChatGPT, the Mountain Review firm could play its card by communicating on the deployment of its Gemini assistant. She has already indicated her desire to make Gemini the official assistant for Android smartphone users, thus replacing the current Google Assistant.
Other announcements are expected, but it is not yet known whether Google will present the second generation of its Pixel Fold. In addition, the firm has been quite discreet regarding the development of the Wear OS operating system for connected watches, since announcing its partnership with the famous Samsung brand.
