images of the reboot leaked Twitter deleted them

While rumors surrounding a reboot of Silent Hill continue to fuel gamers’ fantasies, a certain “AestheticGamer”, also known as “Dusk Golem” on Twitter shared very early this morning images of the next Silent Hill. Four photos, sent by one of its sources, which unfortunately did not have time to be shared with the whole world, since quickly erased by Twitter, for violation of copyright. Worse, for several minutes, the insider’s Twitter account was even suspended in stride. This DMCA request by the author of the copyright certifies at least one thing: it is that these images are likely to be completely legitimate. On the ResetEra forums, AestheticGamer said that the complaint was filed by Konami with Twitter, which tends to prove that we are on to something concrete.

But as you know, the internet never forgets and these snaps have all been found and re-shared, allowing for a deeper analysis of the game and the concept the developers want to take this reboot to. First thing to know, AestheticGamer specifies that these visual elements are dated 2020 and that it is not forbidden that the game has evolved since then. Still, we can observe a desire to offer a gloomy, sometimes disturbing atmosphere, especially with this room and this hallway lined entirely with post-its. We also see a person, or rather a creature, who stands at the bottom, whose head and hands seem to be invaded by dimples, reminiscent somewhere of the Clickers of The Last of Us reached by the Cordiceps.

There is also this young woman, whose close-up face allows us to see messages embedded in her skin, sometimes enigmatic, sometimes evocative like this “I hate myself” which leads us to believe that we are going to have to deal with tortured characters. The other images show unsanitary rooms, reminiscent of the filthy side of Resident Evil VII of the Baker house, while an all-Japanese text seems to confirm that this Silent Hill is in development in a Japanese studio. In addition to these analyzes that anyone can perform, AestheticGamer provides some additional details obtained by its sources, in particular that the game could use the interaction with the player in his real life, with SMS and messages that he could receive during his game. A concept that is not new since the French studio Lexis Numérique had tested the experience with the game Alt-Minds in 2012. It also shows that the ideas that Kojima had proposed when he was still working on Silent Hill were kept, since it had been mentioned that the player was forced to sign a contract to authorize the game to contact the player by sending him e-mails, but also text messages during the game.

If nothing is official yet, this unexpected and violently suppressed leak by Konami’s epidermal reaction allows us to see that it is on the right track and that the concept is very interesting.
