Ikea imagines the perfect fashion accessories for summer

For the summer of 2022, Ikea and World Surf League imagine a range of clothing and accessories for surfers. A summer collection to discover in May.

After a successful bet last year with its mini fashion collection with a comfy and refined look, Ikea continues its momentum and markets its second line entitled KÅSEBERGA. This time, the furnishing specialist is teaming up with the World Surf League to create a range of clothes and colorful accessories to the summer prints.

Through this collaboration, the Swedish brand and the American surf leaguecommit together in favor of the environment with creations made from renewable and recycled materialswhile focusing on WSL’s favorite field: board sports.

How ? By imagining essential pieces for surfers at the beach and at home. To make this collaboration possible, the Swedish giant imagined each of the pieces with the help of 3,500 surfers. Volunteers from Japan, Brazil, Hawaii and Sweden to test the products and move the project forward.

In total, the collection has 26 fashion and lifestyle items, all from renewable materials and recycled. “In my opinion, the KÅSEBERGA collection can be defined by the expression ‘high vibe, low impact’: nice design, super functionality and low impact. We take the plastic out of the ocean, we don’t pollute the waterways, and we show people that it’s possible.”explains surfer Kassia Meador, consulted for the development of the capsule. Moreover, among the pieces of the collection, there is a net bag designed to contain the waste found on the beaches. It’s your turn…
