Ice hockey: Erik Karlsson decided for Pittsburgh in the mud

The teams traded chances with each other in the three-on-three game. Reilly Smith pulled the puck in and played it backwards to the Dane Lars Eller who got a chance. Vancouver’s goalkeeper Thatcher Demko saved but on the return Karlsson pounced and managed the open situation after 61.42.

Rickard Rakell brought Pittsburgh back into the game by scoring 1-2 and 2-2 in the second period.

Crosby noticed

In North America, it is noted that Sidney Crosby, passed on both of Rakell’s goals, and scored his 1000th point in five-on-five play. Ninth in NHL history with that mark.

On his way out of the arena, he could fix his eyes on a small guy and his placard: “Hey Crosby, I’m at my first NHL game”.

Vancouver has not lost its position as the NHL’s best team despite five losses in the last six games.
