Ice hockey: Emma Nordin all-time scoring leader in the SDHL – after confusion

After three points in the second final match against Modo, most people believed that Emma Nordin touched Denise Altmann’s record for most points in the SDHL, 643.

But now Nordin herself says that she passed Altmann.

– There was one person who pointed out to me that they missed an assist point in the first final match.

“Feeling a little proud”

This means that Nordin stands on 644 points and is alone number one.

– If I have to say something, it is above all that I feel a little proud, not about the score itself, but that I was able to push on and keep the motivation to do what I love for such a long time, says Nordin.

The 32-year-old forward was there when Modo played their way up to the top flight in 2007, took SM gold with the same club in 2012 and also has six SM gold with Luleå.

“Have been along for the whole journey”

She is not only proud of the long career, but also of the journey she has been a part of when it comes to developing women’s hockey.

– I have actually been part of the entire journey that was before me. There wasn’t much economy to play with in those days. It was quite tough conditions, you had to find solutions to fit the puzzle of life with school, work and training. Many were out on national team assignments and missed jobs and income, says Nordin and continues:

– I have been on that whole journey until today. The association (Luleå) has invested more in us with each passing year. It’s great fun and awesome to be part of and build on that journey and hopefully make it even better for those who come after us.

Nordin has a contract with Luleå also next season.
