Ice hockey: Brynäs knocked out Nybro in four straight games: “Even games”

– It’s four even games right through and what I’m most satisfied with is that we have patience and don’t get excited when things go against us, when we miss chances or score goals against us. Nybro has been good, says Brynä’s coach Niklas Gällstedt to TV4 Play.

Nybro did what they could to extend the match series and with just over a minute left they reduced it to 1-2 with selected goalkeeper Tex Williamsson. Then they didn’t get enough pressure to get an extension.

– The final impression of being beaten in four straight feels like that, but in a couple of days we can probably pat ourselves on the back. We should have won the first game, says newcomer Nybro’s experienced Tommy Samuelsson, who has been voted the best coach in the Hockey Allsvenskan.

Seven hours on the bus before rest awaits

Nichlas Torp pulled away a shot for 1-2 and Brynäs kept goalkeeper Jared Coreau from keeping a clean sheet for the first time in the match series.

In the semi-finals, where they come rested, Brynäs will get to choose their opponents. The first semi-final begins on 1 April, also in the best of seven games.

– It will be nice to have an extra day off before we have to recharge again, says Gällstedt before the seven-hour long bus journey that awaits Brynäs home to Gävle.
