“I don’t know what he was doing” – Max Verstappen passed Michael Schumacher’s record

I dont know what he was doing Max Verstappen

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen already took his tenth victory of the season in the F1 series. The victory was his eighth in a row. The record is Sebastian Vettel’s nine consecutive victories.

Red Bull Max Verstappen rose from the sixth grid to victory in the Belgian F1 race at the Spa circuit. He left his team mate who drove second Sergio Perez more than 22 seconds.

The Grand Prix victory was the eighth in a row for Verstappen, who dominated the season by far. He moved into second place alone in the all-time hit streak record Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg’s and Alberto Ascari. Above is no more Sebastian Vettelwho won nine races in a row in the 2013 season.

There have been 12 GP races in the season. Verstappen has won ten of them and Perez two. Ferrari, who started from the pole, came third in Belgium Charles Leclercwhich Perez passed in the first round.

Verstappen was the fastest in qualifying, but left the sixth grid because his car’s gearbox had to be changed. The Dutchman took the lead in the 17th lap after the first pit stops, and went on.

– Winning from the sixth frame is new to me. We knew we had a good car, so we just had to get through the first corner. It was quite crowded there, so I stayed far away. The Spa track is really hard on the tires and I didn’t want to participate in anything extra. A couple of laps were challenging when it rained. The car wanted to go sideways once, you really don’t want that there, Verstappen said.

Piastri was disappointed

The opening corner came from a McLaren driver driving in the royal class for the first time Oscar Piastri as fate.

Yesterday, Piastri, who finished second in the sprint race with the best performance of his career, had a hard time at the start, when Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz wedged in front of him on the inside edge of the opening bend, tires locked. The front wing of Piastr’s car was damaged enough that the McLaren driver had to stop.

– I don’t know what he was up to. He just turned as if I wasn’t there, Piastri said on the team radio.

– I got a good start, and then we entered the braking zone. Carlos moved to the right and I had to try to dodge but my options were limited. Have to look at the situation again to see if I could have done something differently. It’s a shame that I’m standing here and not on the track, Piastri said after the interruption.

– We probably both could have done things differently. The corner is really tight, and Carlos didn’t have many options either.

Ferrari’s Sainz also hit his own driver in the situation, quickly fell to the tail end of the race and stopped on the 25th lap.

Evenly thick with bottas

Alfa Romeo, who started from the 13th starting grid Valtteri Bottas crossed the finish line in 12th place.

According to the Finn, who was left out of the points, not much was left of the race.

– An evenly strong race where there were no mistakes. The tactics were good. The final result matched the car’s speed at the weekend. Couldn’t have done more. At the start, I had to go off the track in the first corner, when Yuki Tsunoda started going more and more to the right. It lost a bit of momentum, Botta said in an interview with Viaplay.

The F1 circus continues after the summer break on August 25 in Holland.
